My Party Will Win Osun West,Guber 2018 and others-Tunde Eso

Tunde Eso is a political scientist, author of African Security Solution the book that was published in UK 2012', president of Fix Nigeria Group and 2018 Osun State Governorship aspirant under the platform of People's Democratic Party(PDP). In this interview with OLA BABATUNDE, he spoke on the chances of his party winning in the forthcoming elections in Osun State.

How would you rate governor Aregbesola's second term in office, bearing in mind that he ran the state for two years without commissioners as provided for in the constitution?

I personally believe Governor Aregbesola has done his best subject to available resources. I think too that operating without commissioners up till this moment is part of his strategy to manage the state. I am not saying that such approach will not have its adverse effects. It surely will, as we all know that delegation of duty is the best way to get better results in any enterprise. May be he is trying to avoid the bureaucracy associated with government which slows down operations.

Do you foresee any danger for APC as a result of this delay in setting up a cabinet in the next election?
We all know that Osun state is ruled by APC for now. I think the effect of not setting up a cabinet to manage the state up till now might adversely affect the fortunes of the party in the coming election despite its strong footing in the state. I see danger ahead which could lead to the advantage of the opposition party. 

Due to the demise of Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke in Osun West Senatorial district, constitution demanded there must be a replacement within three months, do you see your party winning the election?
Yes and its obvious that my party will win osun west by-election because APC has injected poverty and depression into the state, with that, i know my people in osun west will vote people's democratic party to ensure pragmatic change in osun state. 

You have indicated interest to contest the governorship ticket in the state, how prepared are you and what is your political calculation like?
I'm well prepared and my strategies to assuming the position of governor in the forthcoming election in the state is water-tight which I do not want to let out of the bag for now. Very soon, they will be unfolded.  

Do you see your party wining the next governorship election in the state considering a lot of challenges facing the party?  
Despite the fact that APC is the strong party on ground in the state, my party is ready to give it a good fight as we are ready to exploit all the loopholes to our advantage. Challenges are meant to be surmounted and we are more than ready to do so before the next election and face the ruling party with the entire arsenal at our disposal. 

If you are fortunate to win the ticket, what are your programmes for the state? My programmes are directly related to the needs of the citizens: Quality education, provision of better infrastructure, better security, increase in teachers and workers salary, assurance of bursary award and scholarship for students, invitation of more industries to the state to ensure that poverty vanish in our land, cheap food, a labour force that will be proud to work in the state and many more. 

What are your chances of winning the ticket?
Very bright.
