PDP Raises Alarm Over Arms Build Up In Osun APC Power Tussle
Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has alerted Security Agencies in the State to ensure adequate protection and safety of lives and properties in Osun State, as the ruling APC prepare to hold their party primaries for the vacant Senate seat of Osun West Senatorial District. The primary election is purportedly slated for tomorrow in Iwo.
The PDP, according to a statement made available to newsmen by the party's Social Media Director, Mr Oladele Bamiji on Sunday, expressed worries over violent altercations that have characterized processes leading to APC Monday primaries. According to Bamiji, feelers from various contending camps in APC are already prepared to unleash bloody violence against each other and this according to him, may incur collateral damage on innocent and already bewildered residents of Osun State.
The Media Officer further stated that, as a party with abundant history of violence, latest of which was the Lagos State APC primaries for mere councillorship slots, which led to gruesome murder of a number of their party supporters and innocent members of the public, security agencies in Osun State cannot afford to allow repeat of such ugly violence in Osun State.
Going by recent experience in Lagos, the political capital of APC in the South West, the State Commissioner of Police, State Director of DSS and other government agencies saddled with security of lives in the State should rise to the orgy of violence the militant arms of Osun APC have openly promised to unleash on the state, the statement concluded.
