"Youths are the Leaders of today while children are the leaders of tomorrow" (Tunde Eso 2016)
Compatriots, I'm glad to be associated with you and note that together we win, divided we lose. I want to use this opportunity to inform us again that readers are leaders, therefore let us take to reading of more books as one of the major ways preparing for the task ahead of us because failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Fellow Nigerian youths, our role as youth is to be decent and if we have to take over from the gerontocrats, because the attainment of Nation building is only possible with the present youths. So let us stand up today and take up the leadership mantle in our respective community and institutions.
I have a vision at age 19 that Nigeria will become the mother of all nations, and I have been in the vision for 20 years, ensuring that I translate the vision to the benefit of mankind because there is dignity and prospect in voluntary service even. Therefore, the little hint about my vision illustrate the fact that the role and participation of 21st century students in the attainment of Nation building starts from their ability to have a vision and pursue it without any form of doubt, because doubt is the only problem that stands in between you and the attainment of your vision or dreams but when you shun doubt then the sky is your limit like:
Toyosi Akerelele, 33 years old lady, who is the Founder of Rise Networks. RISE commitment is to make substantial contributions to society in terms of concrete actions and changes. RISE represent a new optimistic generation that will work to make history and hope rhyme.(Rise Networks has launched Political Leadership/Public service training for elected campus student leaders you need to check through their platform).
Tunde Eso, 39 years old visionary who is the Founder of Fix Nigeria Group. FNG is a patriotic move to awakening the consciousness of the progressive minded Nigerians which major members are youths towards taking their destinies into their hands politically, economically and socially in Nigeria with state coordinators across the country. Tunde Eso is Publisher of Findout Newspaper and Author of the book African Security Solution that was published in United Kingdom in 2012, which is sold on Amazon and Google, the book is a practical discussion offering solution in a pragmatic approach to everyday social economic, political and developmental issues plaguing Africa. He is a numerous award winner.
Mide Ayeni Babajide, 34 years old young lady is the founder of PEARL RECYCLING. A waste up cycling company that focuses on converting solid waste to furniture. This idea has enabled her to emerge as winner of WIMBIZ Impact Competition in 2016. She is a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur Alumna and she recently got selected as one of the 100 TechWomen emerging leaders by the United States.
Remi Owadokun, 30 years old lady is the Author the book 'How I lost 40kg' is the only Nigeria book to reach bestselling status on Amazon and sustained that for weeks.
Chinonso Ogbogu is young and the founder of The Incubators Africa- a fast growing pan African business learning and support ecosystem set up to bridge the gap for young Africa entrepreneurs across African continent to innovative ideas, provide inspiration and answers to tough business questions, facilitate access to support tools, network, and resources as well as help them forge new partnership for business success.
Ejikeme P. Nwosu, 34 years old man is the Convener of Reformed Youth Movement of Nigeria and the inventor Patent Right holder of technology that converts urine into clean energy. These are some of the youths, you should follow on facebook, twitter and so on because you will also gain a lot from them and join the train thereafter because they are doing exploit in rebranding and restructuring our beloved country positively.
To remind us again, youth constitute about 69 percent of our population and have almost 75 percent of voting rights. The youth have the strength, energy, dynamism, intellectual prowess and more importantly, the population to capture power. In this regard, I advise dynamic youths to stop criticizing government without proffering solutions to problems. They should rather stop parading those who marginalized and brought us to where we are now and support young visionary leaders with aspiration to vie for political positions.
Note, I have discovered that most of us don't start a project because we are afraid falling, and yet the greatest success comes from having the freedom to fail. If I don't start the campaign to become Osun State Governor as a young man, I'm sure; I may never be invited to deliver a speech today.
For us to move forward as a country and as a people, we have to regard history, maybe we don't remember that those who fought and attained our independence were youths and there were elderly elites in Nigeria as at then. So, stop clamoring for change, be the change instead. We need to understand that our generation prosperity depends on how well and fast we can redefine equality and purpose for many to have freedom.
Attention! Nigerian youths, was the topic of my article published in Tribune Newspaper in 2010 where I stated that "I believe this is the time when all youths must come together and contest the ruling class to a standstill. Besides, we should rise up to take our future in to our hands by ensuring a good future for ourselves. However, we can't do this by continually pointing accusing fingers at leaders but we should collectively be responsible to our nation and encourage one another towards a better Nigeria.
So, again note that it was Awolowo, Azikwe, Amodu Bello and others that paid the prize to earn our independence at youthful age, so freedom is not free, it's a pursuit that some people like me must pay for and you too can start today. Together, with youthful energy in our synergy will can define new purpose for our generation to ensure equality and true freedom.
Thanks. Tunde Eso
I hope you find a path to follow with my speech.
