My Party Will Win With Youth Inclusion - Tunde Eso

Tunde Eso is a political scientist, author of Vision for Africa and African Security Solution and a media, management and property consultant. In this interview, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2018 governorship candidate in Osun State spoke on his plans for the youths and governance as a whole.

What position does youths have in governance?
Tunde Eso: We have a new bill that has been passed into law already, that is the "Not Too Young To Run" bill. The Government has given the youths the opportunity to participate in governance from the local to the state level.
Youths are certified. They have been given the mandate to run before now but it all depends on the steps we take. It depends on our decision.
What are your plans for the youths at large?
Tunde Eso: The first thing I have for the youths is that I have coined a new system of government which is "Youthocracy" defined by me as (Government of the people, by the youth and for the people). And it was published in one of my books titled Vision for Africa in 2013. Youthocracy advocates leadership shift in Africa in order to ensure that a new political ideology is injected into governance.
I have been advocating for youths and women participation in governance and leadership for 21 years. If I have done that long, then you should expect me to incorporate more youths, women and other credible personalities into my government when I become the next Governor of Osun State this year 2018 by God's grace, because He gave me the Vision and I have been watering it for 21 years now to the glory of God.
We want youths to participate because we need new ideas in governance. Meanwhile, we need intelligent minds to take up leadership in Nigeria because " The people that refused intelligent minds to lead them, will enjoy the highest level of poverty'' he quotes
Those heroes that got our independence were young people and with their energy they synergized and got us the independence in 1960.
In Osun State, what can you say about the continuous crisis in your party?
Tunde Eso: its a necessity for pragmatism and it will be over, but I want to salute the courage of our leaders especially Hon. Soji Adagunodo and Dr. Bayo Faforiji but I also want to advice them to be more considerate as time is not on our side even though we have the chances of winning if our primaries is done a day to elections, but we have to consider documentation of deeds for posterity sake and youth inclusion for us to win elections, this is also applicable to the National executives of our party.
What do you think are the major challenges in Nigeria?
Tunde Eso: Electricity, education, industrial revolution, insecurity, unemployment, youth inclusion in governance and others. If we can fix one out of those that we have mentioned we have fixed all. If we fix electricity, we have solved 75 per cent of Nigerian problem.
Finally, who is Tunde Eso?
Tunde Eso: I'm uncommon and a visionary. I stick to that. This is the first time in Africa that somebody will come out to say that openly. I have been on this for 21 years and we are going to install a visionary leader by the name Tunde Eso. The news will be all over the world.
