Brief us about your background?
I grew up in a rural, rugged and agrarian community in Ijesaland. My parents were peasant farmers. Though, my mother was engaged in petty trading. By the Grace of God and the benevolence of my parents, I was educated up to
Masters degree level. I am still very popular among the people at the grassroots till today because I keep the friends I have since I was in Primary school. And, though I dine and wine with the high and influencial people in the society, I don't alienate myself from the lesser mortals.
What motivates you to join politics?
The motive to serve and bring the large number of people out of dept of despair to the height of ecstasy.
The motive to rescue so many people from the jaws of poverty, ignorance and hunger.
I have always regarded politics as a tool to help people through wealth creation, wealth distribution, provision of enabling environment for business to grow and as a means of engaging in robust and significant debate and discourse so as to proffer solutions to the problems facing the society
What is your manifesto for Ijesa South federal constituency?
My main manifesto is to guarantee their welfare and well being. To achieve this, I intend to do the following
I will open up the massive agricultural potential in the constituency to the world.
As at today, my constituency has the largest Cocoa plantations in Osun State, majorly at Atakumosa east and west local government which can elicits outstanding fortunes for Osun State citizens.
Apart from Cocoa, other agriculture potential that can banish hunger and poverty in my federal constituency are; timber, banana plantain and palm products. It is my intention to open this potential to the entire world. I will support the existing farmers and also encourage the youth to go into agriculture. I intend to create ready made market for all the agriculture products in the area so that farmers can make enough money from agriculture.
No one is in doubt that my constituency is the hub of gold mining in Osun State. It is an incontrovertible fact that Nigeria can make the same fortune from Gold as from crude oil. But my head aches and my heart bleeds when ever I hear the complaints of my people. How gold miners destroy their farm land, how gold merchants cheat them without paying commensurate compensations for the destruction of thier farm's and other means of livelihood. All these will stop if I am elected as their representative.
If elected, I intend to open a portal for job creation and through the portal, we will know the number of graduates we have in the federal constituency and how to fix them when the opportunity arises.
It is my intention to create a poverty alleviation programme particularly for those who are not so well educated. The scheme will cover, granting of soft loans for small scale business owners and constant provision of artisanal trainings for the youth.
As the Ijesa south federal constituency candidate, what would you do differently if elected?
Apart from that, I pledged to always make myself available for discussions on how to move the our Federal constituency forward. There will always be town hall meetings where the major problems or challenges facing the people will be ironed out.
Why do you think PDP can win elections in 2023?
My party will win coming elections in the federal constituency, if party members can maintain outstanding unity and love within our party. Moreso, with our ongoing agressive campaign and mobilisation across my federal constituency. I'm sure, we will win.
What are the three things you don't like people doing in politics?
The major thing I hate in politics is lying, because one should be honorable enough to let his yes be yes and his no be no.
Secondly, I detest when a politician alienate having won an election. I have when a political leader abandon his people and start cuddling in the arms of new friends elsewhere is highly condemnable.
Thirdly, I hate when you arrogate to yourself the monopoly of knowledge. No one can claim to have the capacity to solve all problems without consulting others. A leader must constantly consult his people. No man is an island, decisions must be taken openly and agreements must be respected.
Who is your role model and why?
My role models in politics since I was in primary school are late Obafemi Awolowo, late Bola Ige and Former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola because they are good leaders.
