By Tunde Eso
Ladi Adebutu, the governorship candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, stormed the residence of Ogun East senator-elect, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, today Monday to congratulate him for his victory at Saturday’s polls.
Daniel, a former governor of Ogun won the Ogun East Senatorial District election in a landslide win, defeating the PDP candidate by 115,147 votes to 58,708 votes.
In company of some top stalwarts, Adebutu said his visit was to felicitate with his political leader, irrespective of partisan differences.
Otunba Daniel’s return to public office, 20 years after he was first elected as Ogun governor, is regarded as a watershed, especially with him scoring the highest-ever voter return in the senatorial district.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that Adebutu’s visit might not be unconnected with a plot to seek the political tactician’s forgiveness and support towards his guber ambition.
