Alfadarai Embarks on Joint Patrol of Election with Commissioner of Police, Responds to Distress Calls with Immediate Effect

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, fdc, mnim, mpa, fisn and the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Idowu Owohunwa embarked on a joint aerial and on the ground patrol of the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections, held on Saturday, 18th March, 2023.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, joined the CP, who led the election security and monitoring in the state to monitor a wholesome number of polling units across the state and gather on the spot assessment of events as they unfolded .

The joint patrol team joined also by some media practitioners visited Alahusa - Ikeja, Igbogbo, Ikorodu and the French village in Badagry, where they monitored several polling units before returning back to base.

The joint monitoring and patrol team was received  by both gallant and dutiful Divisional Officers, Chief Superintendents of Corps Osisami Olatunji and  Akinyemi Rasheed Ayodeji of both Ikorodu and Badagry Divisions respectively.

Nevertheless, the NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant also deployed his reserve force, to respond to distress calls in places like Oshodi - Isolo, Ikate, Surulere, Ajeromi - Ifelodun and Otubu in Ojo et ce tera, where pockets of issues were reported to have erupted and the situations were brought back to normalcy . 

However, the State Commandant has resumed at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ), situated in Yaba, today, Sunday, 19th March, 2023, to monitor the collation of the 2023 Gubernatorial / House of Assembly election results after an effective and successful joint deployment of the Corps' personnel with the Police to ensure a smooth and peaceful conduct of the process.

Alfadarai, who seized the opportunity to appreciate the Commandant General, NSCDC, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, dfisn, OFR, for providing all the needed human and material resources towards the effective performance of the Corps in Lagos, said, "the above action was taken in line with the  vision of the CG, to ensure a free , fair , peaceful and credible  supervision and monitoring of the 2023 general elections across the length and breadth of the state and by extension, the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

Commandant of Corps Usman Alfadarai also commended, the officers and men of the NSCDC, INEC, the Nigera Police Force, the media and other relevant bodies for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections  in the state as well as assured the commission of its readiness to deliver effective and efficient security services during  future plebiscites, organized for the growing democratic process of our dear country .
