Wise people are the movers of the world; they are the drivers of the economy. From the days of old till now, developments have come to humanity due to the initiative of the wise people. Peter and the rest eleven Apostles were all older than Jesus; but for his wisdom, they followed him throughout his ministry career on earth. It was his wisdom that singled him out.
The book of proverbs 28:26 said "It is foolish to follow only your own opinions"
Follow the teachings of wiser people.
Because of his quest for wisdom, Elijah took time to apprentice under Elijah.
He learned so much, and even got the double portion of Elijah at his departure.
The wisdom of Elijah was not only useful for Elisha; but it was very useful for the people in their generation, in our generation and even the unborn generations.
Several hundreds of years ago, Socrates was a great and wise man.
He is one of the ancient philosophers. He had a good numbers of people who learned wisdom from him.
Prominent among them is Plato who is also wise in his own capacity.
For the fact that he learnt from a great mind also qualified him for greatness.
Like his boss, Socrates, he also was globally recognised for his educational and intellectual prowess.
In Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is regarded as one of the prominent politicians in Nigeria, but he was one of the followers of the great politician, Obafemi Awolowo.
And like him, several other people learned good leadership from the enigma. Dr. Sidney Bremer was a good student of Dr. Napoleon Hill.
Napoleon Hill was a world renown motivational speaker and author. And as a result of good studentship from him, Dr. Sidney Bremer also became a global author and speaker. Pastor E.A Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo were both students of the great Bishop Benson Idahosa. They learned a greet deal from their master and today they are ruling the preaching platform in Nigeria.
Before his death, late last year, my mentor and teacher, Dr. sunny Obazu Ojeagbase instilled in me a lot of practical wisdom in seminar organizing, talk deliveries and magazine publication.
And back to you, what wisdom are you learning and from who? Ecclesiastes 10:10 – said wisdom is profitable to direct.
