Governor Dapo Abiodun Must be Sanctioned for Intimidation and Incitement

Democracy is described as the government of the people, by the people and for the people. Today, it has been proved otherwise by the Ogun State Governor, who was captured in a recently released video threatening to arrest members of the opposition while using harboring of thugs by "some people" as disguise.

The entire public, law enforcement agencies is hereby drawn to inciting statements credited to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor who has vowed to deal decisively with members of the opposition by means of arrests and other generallisimo styles of intimidation. He also boasted of using all State apparatus against the opposition.

No one would forget in a hurry the havoc wrecked on the polls at Mr Governor's polling unit in Iperu when he discovered he lost at his polling unit which led to the cancellation of the unit's results for the Presidential and National Assembly elections of February 25, so who is actually harboring thugs?

Ogun people will also not forget his earlier statement of threat and incitement, to shut down Commercial Banks which resulted in the destruction of properties in Sagamu some weeks ago, this is irresponsible statement to say the least which should not be uttered by a ward Councilor not to talk of a State Governor.

Our great party, the PDP hereby use this medium to call the attention of the DSS to this dangerous game being played by the State Governor. What happened to the peace pact signed by all Political Parties before the election? Ogun peaceful coexistence is non-negotiable.

Governor Abiodun should be reminded that his days are numbered in the Government house. Ogun State is a peaceful State, while it is worthy of note that Ogun inhabitants are law abiding, we won't sit down, fold our arms and watch the ruling APC bring our dear State to retrogression.

This press release was signed by Asiwaju Bankole Akinloye publicity secretary cum spokesperson Ogun State People's Democrat Party Campaign.
