Youthocracy Should be Embraced Globally For Youths to Take Back their Future-Shadrach Idegu
Report: Tunde Eso
Shadrach Idegu, an activist, books author and social commentator. He spoke to TUNDE ESO on politics and sundry issues.
Brief us about your background.
My name is Shadrach Idegu, I am an author with over 50 self-published books and there are circulated worldwide by many largest bookstores across the globe, and, an activist with plenty political articles on some Nigeria outstanding national newspapers and on international journals.
I am the first-child of Elder Dr. Idegu Alhaji Solomon, a university lecturer and Deaconess Idegu Afor Dorathy, a business woman.
What motivated you to your professional work?
Exclusively demand, books are the souls and spirits of humanity. Transformation, inspiration, motivation, entertainment, learning and the host alike are the particles of books. Note; histories and futures are in books. The most important way to initiate a legacy and to change the world is by putting ideas, wisdom, suggestions, opinions, knowledge and the rest of the nature into a book or books and in engaging with actions and activities that could be written. Additionally, campaigning and protesting for total freedom of the less-privileged and physically-challenged in the societies is one of the best things that purchase posterity. Putting these together, I can say, it is the reason I choose writing and activism.
How long have you been in your field?
I have been in the field for 6 years.
How would you build up a personal relationship with clients?
I believe in sincerity, diligent and punctuality. This is how I build my personal relationship with as many I have things doing with. It is highly exclusive in my professional relationship, too.
How do you think Nigeria can eradicate poverty and insecurity without embezzlement?
The concept of "Embezzlement" in regards to Nigeria developmental context, is poverty and insecurity itself. I am very certain that, if our leaders put aside the embezzlement, there should be enough money in circulation which would aid at bringing daily living to the citizens, and it would stop jobless citizens indulging notorious groups that are threats to the nation. Therefore, rooms for creation of more jobs and supporting citizens for establishment of businesses is on a goal.
As an activist, what is your view on 2023 elections in Nigeria?
I am so bitter about the conduct of the just concluded presidential election. The electoral process that declared the president-elect lacks transparency and accountability. President Muhammadu Buhari and the INEC chairman, prof. Yakubu and his colleagues who compromised to announce unadulterated result have insulted our intellectual prowess and have equally painted our civility on black before our counterparts. Hence, our educational values have been dragged into chaos. Nailing it straight, I am so disappointed over the election as the will of the citizens didn't reflect on the result. I encourage peaceful protest until these anomalies are rectified.
What are your plan in five years to come?
I have many plans. Three among them are so paramount. Firstly, I want to collaborate with political movements to save Nigeria from these old and unqualified politicians. Secondly, I want to be a globally celebrated author and activist who is changing the world with intellectual contributions. Thirdly, I want to be a good character for emulation.
What are the three things that makes you happy?
Firstly, seeing people happy because of my contributions to their well-beings. Secondly, I am happy whenever I initiate new things that can help younger generations grow better and stronger. Thirdly, I am happy to see others happy.
What are the three things that makes you sad?
Firstly, if people around me are not happy, I wouldn't be happy. Secondly, if I have no means to contribute positively to others in need at a time of their needs, I would be sad, and, thirdly, I am sad if I see people maltreating the less-privileged and physically-challenged.
Who is your role model and why?
I have no role model, because, I consider myself as the first and the last of my kind.
Kindly advice younger generation that you belong, that are dropping democracy for Youthocracy in the world
It is widely acclaimed that; the generation is democratically-inclined in governance.
What we, the younger generation can see is that, democracy is now benefiting the old and the veteran politicians more than the youths. It is on this note, I do cherish Tunde Eso, one of the intellectuals we have, for his newly-introduced system of government called "Youthocracy". This should be embraced by youths across the globe as it would be a weapon to take our future back from these old and unqualified politicians so as to manage it ourselves
