PDP YOUTHS: Enough of our Presence Without Relevance
By Echo Emmanuel
Nothing gives me joy like seeing my fellow party youths calling for total overhauling of our dear party on a daily basis. Despite all they have gone through in the last elections, they're still passionate to see their party recover their stolen mandate and to forestall a repeat of the avoidable crises that plunged us to where we're today.
We have seen how emergency political party like LP was able to harness the voting power of young persons in the just concluded elections. These were PDP youths that lost fate with our great party. Something urgent needs to be done to win them back. Never too late to bring them back with sincerity of purpose.
It's my hope that the party gives more responsibilities to youths that have distinguished themselves overtime; by so doing, they become more accountable to the party, above all, it rebuilds the trust of these young persons in the party.
Evidently, the future of this party lies squarely on the shoulders of these young persons. The party should kickstart a sustainable succession plan in earnest. The legacy of our founding fathers must be upheld and sustained, passionately.
The time to break the cycle of redundancy amongst People's Democratic Party youths is now and not when the next election is around the corner. It's doable!
