I am saying these words today with great admiration and joy in my heart. Your victory at the Supreme Court over the governorship election debacle imbues me with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the blessing of your leadership now affirmed as incontestable and unimpeachable. There is no doubt that you have found yourself on the side of truth and justice, and that this victory is a testament to your resilience and unwavering commitment to the people of Osun State.
The journey to this victory was never an easy one, and you faced several obstacles along the way. However, you remained focused and determined, never once losing sight of your goals. Your perseverance in the face of adversity is truly inspiring, and it serves as a reminder that with hard work, dedication and honesty, we can achieve anything we set our minds to. I am particularly minded of the jest and disbelief that courted your candidacy from the usual quarters blind to the love and buy-in that drove your campaigns and emergence. Yet you stayed spirited and it was your upbeat optimism and conviction in the propriety, rightness and needfulness of a people-oriented mandate that has brought you to this point of great victory at the Supreme Court.
I am particularly impressed by your leadership style, which has always been guided by the principles of fairness, justice, and accountability. Your commitment to delivering good governance to the people of Osun State is evident in your numerous achievements, such as your efforts to improve the state's infrastructure, boost the economy, and promote social welfare while cutting off wastages and blocking loopholes in the system that undermine the state's aspirations.
Furthermore, I must commend the impartiality and professionalism of the justices of the Supreme Court who presided over your case. Their decision to uphold the popular choice of the people as demonstrated in the election is a clear indication of their unwavering commitment to the rule of law and justice, and a reverence for democratic ethos bereft of compromise as your traducers may have vainly wished for. I am indeed in awe of the impartiality and wisdom of the Justices as their decision today is a testament to the integrity of the judiciary and the importance of upholding the rule of law in our society. I therefore commend them for their courage and for standing on the side of justice.
Sir, it bears stating that your victory today is not just a personal triumph, but a victory for the good people of Osun State and our great party PDP.
Indeed, it is a historic victory for everyone one of us under the umbrella of peace, stability and unity .
Your Excellency Sir, you have made us all proud, and we stand with you in celebrating this great moment. I have no doubt that with the distractions of this suit now well and truly behind you, that you will continue to prioritize the interests of your people and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State even more.
