Hon. Clement Akanni Delivers Inspirational Thank You Speech
... Highlights Unity and Uncommon Privilege at Victory Reception
Thank you Speech titled "We are People of Uncommon Privilege" Delivered at the Victory Reception in Honour of Myself and my Colleagues, Organized by Committee of Friends from Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun Old Students Association,
I feel elated and super excited for the privilege of being celebrated here. Let me in the first instance apologize for my inability to attend in person. This saddens my heart because the reason is uncontrollable. I meet series of disappointment from Air transport operators in Nigeria. Please accept my sincere apologies.
I must state here that, I appreciate this gathering and the efforts put together to organize the event. This is a rare privilege; glory and adoration to Almighty God for His mercies and the favour of counting us as living being, today. More than three decades after our studentship at the College is a blessing from the Lord. May the Lord bless the soul of those who have left us.
Let me also say that, this is more than the comradeship of been students; it's a family bond. I see beyond being Alumni of an institution. This is a spirit of oneness and the existence of a strong bond. I appreciate this family dearly.
I must add that, the victory we are celebrating today was made possible by the divine power of the Almighty and the support of the people. It therefore becomes a strong deal not to disappoint the people. You are my people, my performance metrics would be our collective glory at the end. As you celebrate us today, it's another affirmation of the 'all eyes' on us. I must not disappoint you and we will not disappoint you.
Let me also inform you that we have recorded another victory, and the celebration today has expanded beyond the two of us who participated in the last general election. We now have a commissioner designate from this family. Congratulations to our own Rev Olubunmi Atanda Jenyo, on his appointment to the cabinet of Osun State Governor. Remember I said we are people of uncommon privilege. We have moved from grace to grace after decades of our studentship of the College. We are prepared to make this family proud in our capacities at various levels.
It is pertinent to note here that our victory is a victory for all, and our success is a success for all. As such we will need your collaboration in this journey. Please don't leave us alone, we would appreciate your contributions in terms of ideas, suggestions and criticism. It is my prayer that a ni su ara wa.
I thank you all, most sincerely, and I tender my apology once again. I wish you all safe trips back to your various destinations. Ope mi ko ni opin si yin. Please accept the warmest of my esteem regards.
God bless you all!
Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni (Olohunwa),
