I Have Deep Passion for Women Development, says Egbedun

Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Honourable Adewale Egbedun says for any society to progress, journalists have a role to play.

Rt. Hon. Egbedun made the declaration while hosting executives and members of the Nigeria Association Of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Osun State Chapter in his office on Monday 

The Speaker who used the occasion to highlight his deep passion for women's development, assured that the 8th Assembly is ready to partner with women groups, including the state's NAWOJ towards actualizing the association's goals and objectives.

Honourable Adewale Egbedun used the opportunity of the visitation to appeal to women and other journalists in the state to mobilize massive support towards the propagation of the developmental strides of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The State's Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo in her remark congratulated the Speaker, Rt. Honourable Adewale Egbedun on his victory and emergence as the speaker of the state House of Assembly.

Mrs Ayegbayo said the coverage of NAWOJ is limitless, adding that "our programs pay a premium to the wellbeing of women, children, people living with disability and projection of government policies."

The NAWOJ chairperson had on behalf of its members saluted the pragmatic and vibrant leadership of Honourable Adewale Egbedun in leading the 8th assembly, adding that his emergence as the Speaker isn't a mistake considering his antecedents and his conduct so far in office.  She then promise that the association would partner and support the state's parliament in the course of discharging its duties.

Earlier in her remark, the former Osun State NAWOJ Chairman, Mrs Sayo Babatunde appreciated the speaker for giving them an audience. She noted that they are expecting so much from him because he is a youth and they are ready to support him.

In the team of the NAWOJ are Mrs Sola (A senior member of the association), Mrs Abosede Egbedele (Vice Chairperson), Mrs Abisola (State Secretary), Mrs Yemi Olojede (Treasurer), Mrs Taiwo Kekerekun (Ass. Sec), Mrs Bukola Osunwo (Fin Sec), Bose Adebisi (Auditor) and other members of the association.
