Fix Nigeria Group Urges Tinubu and SanwoOlu to lmplement a National Policy and Execute an Agenda of Youth inclusion in Governance

By Editor

National President of Fix Nigeria Group, Tunde Eso, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor of Lagos State Babajide SanwoOlu to implement a National Policy and execute an agenda of youth inclusion in governance.

Eso said this at the group's Lagos State meeting held yesterday in Lagos.

The political activist said obviously recent economic policies of the Federal Government have led to several common crimes in Lagos State even in many states in Nigeria, meanwhile the increase of goods and services in Nigeria had brought devastating effects on the citizens and thereby rigorouslly reducing the standard of living but if the youths are empowered crime will stop.

Eso urged the Federal Government to implement productive national policy and implementation of youth agenda through states employment, empowerment that will engaged the youths to be more responsible for a better Nigeria, which can quickly come to reality through bringing in more investors among our fellow citizens and Lagos State Government should make Lagos State a productive sample to other states in Nigeria.

The Lagos State Coordinator of the group, Comrade Moses Olubobola,, said at the meeting that "Youth inclusion in governance can't be over emphasized as it is indeed vitally important in bridging Nigeria's leadership gap and youth inclusion in governance if purposefully implemented can bring about robust governance.

Sixty percent of Nigeria's population is under the age of 30 years and this makes us the youngest country in Africa.

According to INEC in the just concluded elections, young people made up around 75% of newly registered voters and despite this fact Nigeria's youth are under-represented in public offices on the elective or appointed basis though they form the bulk of the voting population.

Arising from the fact that numerous cases abound of huge numbers of Nigerian youths achieving phenomenal results in  sports, academia, entertainment; corporate world and entrepreneurship both locally and internationally, this therefore is a  clear indication that our youths can excel as well in governance if given the opportunities in a conducive and favourable climate.

In view of the above, I therefore call on our president, his excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement a national policy of youth inclusion in governance for the betterment of Nigeria in all sectors of our lives as a country.

The Public Relations Officer Of Lagos State Fix Nigeria Group, Comrade Taofeek Olowu urged Lagos State government executives to create a new policy for free education, youth inclusion in governance, provision of free working Healthcare organizations and affordable transportation in Lagos.

According to Comrade Seun Akande, the State Secretary of Fix Nigeria Group Lagos, said at the meeting that "in the face of the Economy challenges facing this great Nation, there is abundant of  blessings and natural gifts  looking us in the face without noticing them.

Nigeria is blessed with abundant natural resources, talented and brilliant people both young and old, yet majority of the citizens are living in avert poverty.

Our Lagos is not excluded among the top richest state in the nation, yet we still have bad roads in our major cities, we can not be proud of a standard hospital, no light at home and in our offices to know what is going on in the country, our children can not go to school without a story that touches the heart for a whole year. This is really bad for the greatest nation in Africa. But wait a minute, there is still something that gives us hope of a better Nigeria which is 'The Youth', Yes our youth are still the hope we have for a better nation, so encourage the present administration to engage the youth more for transformation and development to be seen in our nation, the government must not wait for tomorrow but should act now so that our nation can be great again. Remember the bed rock of any Nation lies on the development of the youth.

We hope that both the Local, State and Federal Government will look inward and engage more youth into the system for the change that we desire in Nigeria.
This is not the time to blame anyone for our past mistake, but rather the high time to wake up from our slumber. Any Nation that fail to develop it's Youth has plan for a devastating future, lets act fast before it's too late.

The state youth leader, comrade Monday Yusuf said at the short meeting that, to enhance youth employment in Lagos State which is the father of Nigeria states, we appeal to Governor SanwoOlu to fix electricity in Lagos because "with my personal experience despite no constant electricity the sector workers still collect payment bill every month, which is not unique in any way to eradicate crime and mismanagement in Lagos communities and beyond.

Conclusively, Mrs Toyin Yusuf pleaded and urged the states and federal government to allow more women and Youthocrats on inclusion of governance and outstanding empowerment on national and mineral resources for a better Nigeria.
