God Pull Me from Club to Pulpit- Pastor Folajimi Akinrinlola

Pastor Folajimi Akinrinlola, is the General Superintendent of Immortal Church of God, Ila Orangun, Osun State.  The church structure he met a bamboo in 2008 with about 20 members in attendance, he modernize the edifice and increases attendance to about 200. In this interview with Findout Newspaper, he spoke on his journey to salvation and ministry.

How was your growing up?

After my secondary school and NCE education, my vision is to become a car dealer. But my mother said, I will become a pastor. Immediately after my NCE graduation, my uncle started sending me to buy trailer heads and resell but after a short while, the business rumpled.  Then I joined friends to club daily. It was during that period that God first arrested me through a dream and I began to preach the gospel and perform healings through Christ Jesus, but I was till one leg in and one leg out between the church and the club. Until I had a serious encounter with God when I lodged a woman in an hotel and I had a fifteen minutes sleep, in my sleep a man wiped me with Cain, saying I didn't send you here and before I know it, I saw myself in heaven where lots of beautiful places, houses angels were unveiled to me.  And that man said the day you come back here I will beat you again, and later God finally removed the veil of clubbing from my face and replaced with the gospel of the lord Jesus.

This encounter stopped me from going to Lagos State for now because those friends still lives there and I maybe influence by them, because I'm a friendly person. Since the Bible said we should flee away from every ungodly thing, so I have to run away and stay where God sent me.  So today, I'm married, blessed with fruit of the womb and I'm the General Superintendent of Immortal Church of God, Ila Orangun, Osun State.

When was Immortal Church of God founded?

I am not the founder, but I was assigned to start the church by the founder who is Pastor Abraham Oluwatola, it's a missionary field and I joined them 2008, the church was build with bamboo and about 20 members were in attendance, but the founded  said God told him I'm to lift the Church up.

I didn't listen to him because it's a rural area with no single social amenities to start up, so I ran back to Lagos. Behold, after a short period God instructed me to go back to Ila Orangun and build the church to a modern standard, equip it with musical instatements and to the glory of God will can count about 200 members in attendance within 2010 and now.  We have four pastors I'm paying salary.

What is your vision for the Church?

My vision is to liberate people near and far and draw them close to God, so they can also enjoy the blessing of God that I'm enjoying.  I have the mission of liberating those in despair from financial downturn, marital doldrums and other despondency of life.

Can you explain why some pastor rise and fall?

Firstly, foundation because the Bible says if the foundation is faulty what can a righteous do? I'm from a polygamous home and the issues associated with polygamy led me in exile. It was God that finally removed the blood of polygamous from my vein.  I narrated this ordeal because when I became a pastor, the spirit of polygamous was following me, If not God that came to my rescue and that has affected many in pastorial callings. I know it's not an easy task to pastor even ten members in a church but with God all things are possible.  So, if you know that you want to rise, your foundation will locate you and you need to search and pray against any set back in your family background. If you don't deal with your foundation, the foundation will deal with you.

Secondly, if you want to rise as a pastor, don't touch church money and pay your tithe. For me, that is how I have been doing it and I have been enjoying the grace of God. I have used seven cars now; I never buy any with my money.  As a Christian, pay your tithe and over look whatever your pastor uses the tithe money for. Leave your pastor to be judged by God.

What do you use your church money for?

The church money goes to the founder of the church to cater for the needy and use part of it for his family.

Does church pay you salary?

No, God pays me salary.

Tell us briefly about your educational background.

I started from Saint Mathew Primary School, Ilorin town, later Ondo Boy's High School and NCE at College of Education, Oro in Kwara State; then I went to Word of Faith Bible Institute (WOFBI) in 2007.
