Is Jaruma Empire's 50M Naira Promise to Tacha of BBN 2019 Credible?

There's fear in the Titan Camp that Tacha will go out in a flame of smokes. That Jaruma empire (Hauwa Saidu Mohammed) is just a clout chasing mamalawolooking for a quick buck and a quick rise to the top of twitter trends. A few weeks back, Jaruma empire made an Instagram video in which she promised Tacha of BBNaija 2019, 50 Million Naira. Speculations have surrounded Jaruma's business and disparaging comments flooded the internet about the credibility of her promise to Tacha. Some claimed that she sells juju online and is a home-wrecker.

Jaruma's claim however, has never changed. "I am Nigeria's Number One Celebrity Sex Therapist", she claims. Yet, if you go to her page, Nigerians are there asking for fortune telling, job charms, family jazz and what not.

Therefore, it's not a surprise that her promise to support Tacha has escalated so quickly into an ugly turf war involving Tundeednut, Bobrisky and other celebrities who have all camped as they wished during the concluded BBNaija 2019. We all know that Mercy won but there are a lot of reasons Titans (Tacha Fans), have for their unending support for Tacha. Despite her deeply flawed character, Tacha seems to have ignited something just short of a storm. Shockwave after shockwave of social media eruptions show that this girl has earned the kind of loyalty only gods can boast of. Why then is it sacrilegious that Jaruma in a moment that would take a while for Nigerians to forget, decided to give Tacha financial support instead of leaving her to suffer the pain of her loss?

Tacha was accused of being rude, being manipulative, of having body odour and so many other things. In fact, of all the house mates, Tacha had so many things playing against her and yet she managed to attract so many people including Jaruma into her camp.

What about the accusations that she is promoting prostitution? We all know what BBNaija is before switching on our televisions. This show was not designed to promote innocence or morals. It would be better to switch on a religious channel than expect to see anything promoting any form of ideals. We all know that morals are a subjective thing in societies like ours and even those who are making themselves yardstick for morality have their own skeletons.

Imagine for a minute if you knew that you would be put in front of a million judges on public trial. Imagine that your every move would be seen, every choice examined under microscopic lenses. Would you still be as innocent as you claim to be? It's only a matter of perception. In fact, with the right television angles anyone could be painted as a monster that has mental health issues.

Worse is the fact that we have all concluded that Tacha needs to be checked into psych ward just because of what we think we saw. Again, we must understand that inside the house, there was a lot of gossiping, gas lighting and manipulation. In fact, the drill is to convince viewers that you deserve more airtime than anyone else and how you achieve this doesn't matter. Even if it meant that those watching would conclude that your housemate was a nut head, you would do what you have to do.

Examining the argument with Mercy that led to Tacha's eviction, why is no one talking about how mercy repeatedly flipped her hair in Tacha's face. There's no better depiction of emotional manipulation and gas lighting. The trick is to stay calm, provoke your victim and let them lose their temper while others are watching. Tacha can only be accused of being incensed by having someone's hair thrown in her face intentionally. The real psycho might be going home with 60 Million Naira for all we know.

Again, there is no surprise here that despise the loss in the BBNaija house, Tacha received support from all over Nigeria. Jaruma promised her 50 Million naira. This is just N10 Million shy of the actual BBN prize. The social media trolls picked up on this and ran into a frenzy. We have seen people come for Jaruma with various bogus claims. Like honey to bees, like ants to sugar, this beautiful alliance between two strong women has attracted the envy and hate of a crowd. Jaruma has not only been in social media space for ages, she has been serving a wide array of clientele in and outside Nigeria. Now, some people with clandestine motives claim that she is using dark powers to cast spells and as such should not be associated with. This comes from Nigerians, in a country where any form of unexplained wealth is associated to sorcery. Jaruma has a public Instagram page for her services. Popularly described as Kanyan Mata, sexual enhancement and therapy are just a few of the services Jaruma provides.

If there were any occult claims to be substantiated then investigations should not be too difficult for anyone who cares. Maybe a little education would help on this front. Kanyan Mata originated from Northern Nigeria and is simply an herbal mix for sexual stimulation. Sexual performance has been accused for many broken marriages, and only those who are willing to do something about this valid fear would leave no holds barred. The scourge of a cheating spouse is one that shatters and traumatizes a lot of women. What can it hurt to have herbs that heighten the sexual experience? Of course, as with every solution, there would be those who idolize them and give an occult variation to it.

A report on Pulse Ng by Adaobi Onyeakagbudescribes this product as herbs or potions that act as sex or love enhancers and aphrodisiacs. She further explains that, for centuries, their recipes — generally combinations of herbs, fruits and spices — have been used to heighten and stimulate the sexual feelings of one's partner.

A lot of people have argued that these herbs have some clandestine uses and that homes breakup because of those who use these products.

Sex intoxicates! Trust me. When you have great sex, it could feel like juju. A cheating or randy spouse would not leave their family if the sex was not mind-blowing crazy outside. Maybe we should be talking about why adults cheat at all and not why people choose to enhance sexual performance.

Adaobi Onyeakagbu details the ingredient for the most popular Kayan Mata products which are Kunun Aya and Tsumi. She also talks about the health implication. She says, "Tsumi is a mix of Kayan Mata herb and camel's milk and its effect is very strong. Kunun Aya is a juice gotten from Tigernuts and is drunk by the man for extra performance. Since Kayan Mata is made from fruits, herbs and natural spices, it is, for the most part, healthy. There has been controversy about the effects of Kayan Mata products in tying down men without their consent or inducing possessiveness. This points to use of voodoo in the making. Though, vendors claim that this is untrue, it is best to take care."

For the sake of fair warning, one cannot rule out mischief in the production and distribution of some of these products. However, this is no reason to cast aspersions on someone who has made their profession a public venture.

The Kanyan Mata industry is a million-dollar industry and this cannot be denied. Jaruma is popular for the sales she turns every now and again. The patronage for sexual enhancement especially from Nigerians can conveniently pay for life in Dubai and whatever expensive leisure Jaruma desires. If she wants to give N50million to Tacha, that is her prerogative and she cannot be made to answer to anyone for this. The speculations about Jaruma's capacity to fulfil on her promise are just plain ridiculous.

Tacha's stay in the house has been followed with numerous allegations of mismanagement by her team which consists Ladi, Didi, and Sampson (her boyfriend). A lot of those who promised to sponsor or support Tacha have made allegations that the funds are not getting to Tacha but being diverted by her management team. It would be foolhardy for Jaruma to fulfil her promise while this raging inferno is still left untended. Tacha would have to decide soon enough who handles her brand. It's not uncommon for family and friends to be major impediments to progress. If anyone is really concerned about Tacha, they should focus on the fact that she might be surrounded by sharks and unable to do anything about it.

Tacha would need management and this is because of her undeniable force. Several celebrities have been keen on poaching her. Peter Okoye has expressed his intent. Even Kemi Olunloyo in her veiled attempt to disparage Jaruma's work, revealed her true motives which is to sink her fangs into Tacha in the form of PR management deal. It seems as far as anyone can tell that everyone seems to know what is best for Tacha than Tacha herself. Unfortunately, these arguments and attacks have only pushed forward a narrative that tarnishes the brand of Tacha and seeks to drown who she is behind these scandals.

What then should be the next course of action? Tacha needs to take a stand and stop apologising for being who she was in the house and for her life after the show. Yes, she has issues that might require her to seek counselling, but she needs to stop allowing this image of a mentally unstable person to crown her brand. It's not like any of those accusing Tacha of being manipulative are not busy pushing their own hidden agendas through propaganda and slander.

The BBN 2019 show is over and most of the housemates including Mercy, who won; will have to deal with the sick society outside the house. They will be prodded, poked at; pushed and pulled. Those who had vested selfish interest for supporting them would start to show up. There is nothing mentally safe about the way entertainment is run in the Nigerian sphere so Tacha cannot be labelled as the scapegoat of mental health awareness. Everyone deserves and needs to protect their mental health.

Jaruma's role in helping Tacha stand on her feet is one that can be understood. For someone who has fearlessly braved scandal after scandal surrounding her line of work, her family and even her wealth, Jaruma is positioned appropriately to know what Tacha is facing. Women are shamed for wealth, for sexual expression, for having a voice or anything for that matter. Yes, bad behaviour is not to be excused. Also, we cannot exonerate a society that crucifies women for being sexual, open about their choices and willing to be scrutinized. If we consider thoroughly the situation with BBN 2019, we'd realize that scrutiny is what our society truly doesn't like. We want people to pretend that they are never annoyed, sexual, and aggressive in pursuing their goals. This again should not define Tacha's brand. Jaruma's promise is not one that can be fully understood or justified.

People will continue to make aspersions about everything Jaruma does. It's appropriate that she made a sound business decision, as well as an emotional one. Tacha is a brand to support and fight for and everyone deserves a chance to do that however they want. The decision of who manages her brand is still going to be Tacha's choice. However, Jaruma's stance with Tacha is one of the few that would serve as a major stepping stone for the Tacha brand to maintain a steady momentum if it will not be drowned underneath the attacks, mudslinging. and pity party that is being forced on her. If indeed Tacha's interest is to be considered in all of this, then Jaruma has every right to take precautions before sending the money she promised.
